According to the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On supporting the use of renewable energy sources", the development of the alternative energy is one of the priorities of the country's energy as a whole. The purpose of this program is to increase the energy independence of the country, minimizing the negative impact on the environment, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The JSC "Samruk-Energo" plans to build a wind power station in Shelek corridor capacity of 60 MW with the prospect of expansion to 300 MW, Yenbekshikazakh district, Almaty region, Republic of Kazakhstan. This project is being implemented jointly with Akim of Almaty region in the framework of implementation of the State Program of Forced Industrial-Innovative Development of Kazakhstan for 2010-2014 on the use of renewable energy sources. "Samruk-Energo" together with the project organization, LLC "Krim-Irey" develop materials feasibility study: "Construction of a wind power plant in Shelek corridor, 60 MW with the prospect of expansion to 300 MW." Based on the results of studies of wind potential, district Shelek corridor is one of the most promising areas for the placement of wind farms in the Republic of Kazakhstan. This regional power source is designed to reduce power shortage of electricity in the Almaty region. The planned windfarm is a high-tech energy facilities designed in accordance with international standards. The structure consists of up to 30 stations wind turbines windfarm substation, cable lines and air lines collecting the power delivery and network technology driveways.
